Formulation of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games Volunteer Basic Operation Plan

AINAGOC, Aichi Prefecture, and the City of Nagoya have formulated the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games Volunteer Basic Operation Plan as detailed below.
1. Purpose of formulation
In preparation for hosting the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games, the Volunteer Basic Operation Plan outlines basic ideas about activity conditions, initiatives, and future policies, with the aim of enhancing training for volunteer activities and hospitality and of creating a volunteer environment in which everyone can enjoy volunteering with a smile, regardless of age or disability.We aim to encourage as many people as possible to participate as volunteers and undertake volunteer work while having fun and feeling rewarded, thereby becoming a bridge to realize an inclusive society and promote friendship in Asia.

3. Main content
(1) Expected number of volunteers
Asian Games: approx. 28,000(2) Activities
[Games volunteers]Activities at Games-related facilities (competition venues, main media center, etc.)
- Operational support such as competition management, spectator guidance, language support, athlete support, etc.
[City volunteers]
Activities in the last mile around major stations and stations closest to competition venues, etc.
- Support for sightseeing and transportation, spectator guidance, etc.
(3) Activity conditions and benefits
- Age: 18 years of age or older as of April 1, 2026- Number of days of activity (estimate): Games volunteers are expected to work for 10 days or more.
City volunteers are expected to work for five days or more.
* Continuous activities are limited to a maximum of five days.
* Responding flexibly to allow more people to participate
- Hours of activity: Maximum eight hours per day (excluding breaks)
- Uniform: A jacket, a T-shirt, a pair of long pants, and other items are provided (subject to change).
- Volunteer insurance: Covered by the Sports Safety Insurance
- Benefits: Meals provided, transportation expenses paid (fixed amount), accommodation at the volunteer’s own expense
* Responding flexibly to allow more people to participate
